With roughly 12 employees, Intelligent Interiors is currently Herman Miller’s only minority-owned and -operated dealership in Texas. While this certification has definitely opened doors for the firm, Casas is quick to point out that certification alone does not spell success.
“Regardless of how you look at it, business success is always about dealing with people on a regular basis, so you need to have the people in place to build and nourish the relationships your business relies upon,” she said.”In addition, successful businesses need to have the goods, services and commitment to quality to back up what they are presenting. This is where we truly provide a difference in the marketplace. In particular, we have service that goes above and beyond what people would expect.”
Even as Casas’ firm has grown to its current level - roughly $10 million in annual sales - she takes comfort in the fact that the team has continued to maintain a “consistent feel” that only comes with a small business. “We want to remain pinpointed on what we provide and what sectors we best serve,” she said. “We do not take a broad stroke approach. We need to keep focused on optimum services, and always keep an intimate relationship with the customer. We want our customers to see how much we value our dealings.”

As Casas set out to found Intelligent Interiors, she knew she needed to have the right pieces in place if she was going to succeed. As such, Casas’ company is a full-service dealership offering a comprehensive line of office furnishings as well as interior design services and products. Currently, the firm’s offerings include complete space planning and design, office furniture and accessories. In addition, Intelligent Interiors provides full-service delivery, installation and maintenance as well as repair, asset management and disposal services for the majority of the products offered.
Stepping up the service offering, Casas recognized and now fulfills a noticeable area of need within the corporate and government sectors by providing customized voice and data cabling, state-ofthe-art telephone systems, tasteful artwork, window treatments and wall coverings.
Casas’ dedication to providing the most complete and desirable offering also shines through in the various product lines the firm represents.
