HUMMER H2 refined
March 31, 2008
You could actually be forgiven for thinking nothing is new about the 2008 H2 — until you enter the brand-new cabin, which rivals limousines and turbine-powered continent-crossers for comfort and refinement.
Huge heated power seats and dual-zone front and rear climate controls keep everybody at their desired temperatures. Safety is greatly enhanced with the addition of side curtain airbags with rollover sensors. Drivers can manually shift the transmission with buttons on the steering wheel.
H2s are much easier to drive than one might imagine. A short wheelbase, tight-turning radius, and quicker steering lets you put the big wagon almost wherever you want. Mall traffic initially causes heart palpitations until you realize the H2 is very maneuverable, having enough sensors and cameras to ease it around obstacles and parking lines. Even on rough pavement, the big tires and hefty suspension soak up vibrations and sooth them away from the passenger compartment.
